Meet the Poster Kits of Familiars Surrounding -
Flipper, Pedals, and Cavallo

We're hunting "wabbits"!

Each of these three represents a different cause of the bladder and bowel deficits which make the special needs care for all the cats at Familiars Surrounding necessary.

FLIPPER

Flipper is a rumpy (tailless) paraplegic due to the birth defect spina bifida causing posterior deformities and rear limb atrophy.

But, he's still a supermodel.

PEDALS

Pedals has spinal damage of unknown origin causing posteriorly recumbent paraplegia and neurologic issues.

Brotherly love? She's not so sure.

CAVALLO

Cavallo has complete use of his legs, but a tail pull injury caused an acute spinal separation and the most severe elimination deficits of the three.

I have a handsome pony tail, I think, even if I can't swish it.

Expressing their bladders three times a day and bowels at least once a day, providing their targeted dietary and care needs, seeking medical care and advice as needed, as well as providing as full a life as possible with intercat and interactive play, climbing opportunities and safe outdoor exploration
